Art fuels imagination, while science makes it real. Thus, imagination drives scientific progress. Ancient art exemplifies this synergy. In Chinese history, masters who were both scientists and artists, along with painters capturing technological feats, left enduring legacies. This lecture uses vivid images to showcase how science and art intertwine in ancient Chinese paintings, such as Zhang Zeduan's Along the River During the Qingming Festival (Northern Song) and other Song-Yuan works depicting engineering marvels.
