Document Delivery and Interlibrary Loan
Document delivery and interlibrary loan are services provided by the library to help readers both on and off campus obtain original documents. For on-campus readers, these services enable access to documents not held in our library's collection, while for off-campus readers, they provide access to our library's held documents. There are two ways to obtain original documents: document delivery (a non-returnable method involving electronic versions or photocopies) and interlibrary loan (a returnable method involving the original book). Readers can submit a service application after confirming that the desired documents are not available in the HIT library's collection.
Readers should directly send the detailed information of the required documents, along with their personal information (name, department/school, student ID number, and contact phone number), to the designated email address: wxcd@hit.edu.cn.
The time required to obtain documents is determined by the document provider. Generally, most documents can be acquired within 1 - 3 days. However, for special documents (such as dissertations from foreign universities, documents with an excessively old publication date, microfilm versions of newspaper literature, etc.), the procedures are more complicated, and the acquisition time is longer.
